Our Baby Room

Our new bright and airy baby room, is separate to the pre-school area, ensuring that we provide the special care they need. Carefully selected, qualified nursery practitioners with many years of experience, staff our baby room, with the Manager always at hand to closely supervise the room.

Our equipment and toys are specially designed to stimulate their young minds and to enhance their cognitive and motor skills.

Our soft carpet, mirrors variety of toys enhance tactile and visual stimulation, and our environment is designed to encourage physical skills.

Our Toddlers
12 - 24 months

Our Toddler area is situated in the main play area.

Here, our mobile toddlers have two sections of their very own to play and explore with various toys and equipment to develop their motor and cognitive skills, as they become more confident on their feet.

Although the different ages do have their own areas and time spent with their own age groups, they do mix throughout the day which provides them with a varied experience and extended opportunities to learn. All children eat together at meal times, where the younger children are able to observe the older children, imitating and learning how to feed themselves and become more independent.

Our Pre-schoolers
24+ months

Our pre-school area is open plan and all resources are easily accessible and displayed in a way that invites your child to investigate, explore and develop sensory awareness. We offer a wide range of experiences in clearly defined areas of the nursery including IT, sand, water, paint and messy play, to help stimulate their creativity and develop independence. Our train and cosy areas of the nursery are reserved for stories, rhymes and songs and group discussions developing language and communication skills.

We use the EYFS as a framework when caring for your child and supporting their learning and development. We provide both adult and child led activities and assess your child based on seven areas of learning (three prime areas and four specific areas).

From language and literacy development to social skills and creative expression, the children at Yukon, are constantly being exposed to new activities and environments in which to thrive. We build on the strengths and interests of each child to help build a solid foundation where they can develop their futures.

All parents are kept up to date on their child's development, through our termly reports, parent's evenings and daily communication diaries.
